Cairn Oil & Gas, a Vedanta Group company and India’s biggest private oil and gas producer, has talked about how its community development programs have made a big difference in the lives of 27.52 lakh people in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Assam during FY25. The company’s most recent CSR Annual Report says that the projects covered 18 districts and 433 villages.
The programs are meant to make communities stronger and more self-sufficient by focusing on health care, child well-being and nutrition, skill development, agriculture, and localized interventions. Cairn stressed that beneficiaries are taking on more active leadership roles in shaping their own futures instead of just receiving aid.
Cairn has set big goals for 2030 to show that it is still committed to development that is open to everyone and lasts. In the next five years, the company wants to reach out to all of the communities in all of its operational areas.
In terms of energy, Cairn produces almost a fourth of India’s hydrocarbons and has set its sights on helping the country reach its goal of becoming “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” It wants to produce half of the country’s oil and gas output in the long term, which will make India’s energy security stronger.
The company said that its integrated approach to energy production and social responsibility shows that it believes that communities where it works should share in its long-term growth. Cairn Oil & Gas is still a key partner in India’s journey toward self-reliance by investing in both economic and social progress.
